The top two in each group go through to the quarter-finals. The ties appear here once the group stage is over.

Who plays in it

Sixteen clubs: the eight foundation clubs, plus one club from each state's National Premier League. A state's place goes to its regular-season premiers; when the premiers are a foundation club (already in), it goes to the highest-placed club that isn't. It's a competition, not a division: there's no promotion to the A-League, and every club goes back to its state league the next season.

Foundation clubs: APIA Leichhardt Tigers, Avondale, Marconi Stallions, Preston Lions, South Melbourne, Sydney Olympic, Sydney United, Wollongong Wolves.

Qualified through the 2026 state leagues:

Format

Four groups of four, playing each other home and away (six games each). The top two in each group reach the quarter-finals, hosted by the group winners, then come one-off semi-finals and a final. A drawn group game goes to a penalty shootout: the winner gets 2 points, the loser 1.

No live scores: results are added by hand after each matchday (last updated 25 October 2026).
